Hey everyone and welcome to my very first official “photography” blog post!
I'm Marissa, of Marissa Kathleen Photography! Thank you for coming to read my first blog for my photography business!(which is long overdue!) I try to be as straight forward as possible(and usually fail, ending up with several tangents before finally rounding back to the original story...) so I'm just going to jump straight into it!
To start, I want to tell you about my first maternity session, with my neighbors Sarah and Trystn! They have a very quintessential "Army" story. They moved to their first duty station, had their household goods delayed for weeks and Trystn got short orders to deploy within 6 weeks of their arrival, all while Sarah was carrying their first child(Who you'll see later on when I blog about my newborn sessions!)
Sarah and I had talked about squeezing a mini session in before Trystn left for his deployment but things kept interfering. From Trystn working on out processing, finally getting their household goods, doctors appointments, FRG meetings and everything else that comes with the craziness of pre-deployment life we feared the session might not happen.
Then one day when I was pulling into my driveway, I saw the sun shining through the trees behind our houses and I was inspired! I texted Sarah and told her if they still had time, we could do their session right in their backyard! Low key and no pressure. Later that week we were able to make it happen and I captured precious moments just days before Trystn deployed.
